Someone passed me a ticket. Someone reached out to me as I walked past them, and handed me something. I took it without thinking. So much of that happens outside of thought. Where I just respond. Like running on rails, and not involved with what I am doing. I don’t know where I was, or how i got there. I know that the sun was out, and there were people everywhere. An echo of times walking in the crowds that I don’t remember. But I was given a ticket, to somewhere inside.
I remember being shocked that someone could see me. Someone saw me, and interacted with me. In a real way. They saw me here in this place, and gave me something. I froze. Just stood there without moving. I was surprised i didn’t drop the thing in my hand right then. When i came to my senses, everything seemed wrapped in cotton. I looked to the side and behind me, trying to see who was the one who had the thing in my hand before I got it. Everything was flushed out in white. Like a fully bright and lit fog in the middle of the day.
I looked down then, and saw what was in my hand. It was a thin paper, but also was sturdy and not flimsy like it felt like it would be. It was the size of a large business card, but maybe bigger too. I don’t know why my mind won’t let me figure out how to describe it. It was a dull silver color with black lettering. I tried to see what was on the front. I couldn’t see to read it.
My vision was fine for everything around me, but for this thing, nothing. It looked like the words were both blurry and moving. I held it up close to my face, and the words got more blurry the closer they got. My head and my eyes ached to look at the words. Like a pin from my eye into my brain, that kept getting pulled out and pushed back in.
I don’t know what it was, but it gave me the impression that I could understand what it is. What the message was for. That someone knew i was here, and they are trying to move me. Trying to get me to wake up and move.
